This year marks the beginning of the 9th edition of the Introductory Course on the Economy for the Common Good (ECG). This totally free online course is taught in Spanish and is financed by the Ministry of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Commerce and Labor of the Valencian Community and coordinated by the Valencian ECG Association.

It is aimed at individuals, representatives of social movements, entrepreneurs, freelancers, educators, Local Development Agents, municipal technicians, and in general, people who can contribute to the implementation of improvements for the Common Good in society. The curriculum pursues a general objective and a series of specific objectives.

General purpose:

  • Give an overview of how to implement the Economy for the Common Good in four basic pillars of society, companies, municipalities, educational centers and communities.

Specific objectives:

  • Learn how ECG acts on companies, as the driving force behind the economy for the Common Good.
  • Know how to implement ECG in municipalities, as well as the tools that help convert them into municipalities of the Common Good.
  • Offer a vision of what ECG contributes to teaching in its different cycles. What, where, why and how to apply ECG in schools.
  • Visualize the work that ECG can carry out in the development of the communities.

At the end of the course, students will:

  • Know the basic values and principles of the ECG.
  • Assess the importance of three pillars of the EBC, municipality, company and educational centers.
  • Manage the necessary tools to promote consensus and participation.
